Add-On: Editor or Extra-Content?
…or both?
It’s possible to start working on an add-on for Orbital Decay, somewhere in the near future, so I’m considering various features to include. One would be a mission editor for every creative player to fiddle with, where you’ll be able to create a new campaign and share it with the others. The other option would be a new campaign, with an alternate story line/ending. I’d pretty much like to do both, but I only plan to allocate about one month for this…
So, what will it be?

you sure you can’t do both?

Probably not, though I’d certainly like to

Someone suggested me in an email to expand it to something like EVE (or X), with trade&combat, but such an endeavor is out of my reach at the moment. Anyway, I won’t mind if you care to elaborate on the subject

EVE is retardedly complex, yet well balanced.
In a flash? I don’t think its possible

Alternate endings are usually well accepted among players, although the ability to make and share campaigns is really cool. If the game itself is popular enough, than the latter will actually get used. If you don’t think the game will get enough exposure to make such a feature worth while, I’d stick with alternate endings.

OD has around 1.7M game-plays, so yeah, it’s not exactly “popular”
As for the exposure, the add-on will be released site-locked only on a couple of sites.

Kongregate?

Yeah, Kong is a target
OD was received pretty good there.

It would be nifty if there was a multiplayer version where you could perhaps trade and add different parts to your ship. It would be nice to see how different people customise their own vessels (some would perhaps go fighter heavy, while others may wish to go with the gunship route for instance). It is almost certainly a forlorn hope, but hey one can wish right?
